The Knowledge Centre - helping telecentres to make impact visible to everyone
Nominet Trust are appealing for help to create an online searchable knowledge centre for people planning projects to tackle digital exclusion, improve online safety, and develop and apply innovative ways of using the internet. We are calling this the Nominet Trust Knowledge Centre, which, through the sharing of ideas and experience, will help improve future project planning and enable resources to be used more effectively both within the UK and beyond.

ECEI 2010
Gabi Barna and Ian Clifford are speaking at the European Congress on E-Inclusion 2010 on behalf of Telecentre-Europe.ECEI10 is an official conference organised by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, taking place on 20th and 21st September at the Flemish Parliament in Brussels. Hosted by the Flemish Community in association with Civic Agenda, the conference is a follow up to the inaugural European Congress on E-Inclusion (ECEI09), "Technology and Beyond in Public Libraries", which took place in October 2009.

Join Telecentre-Europe and                    meet us soon!
Dear friends,
We hope that the summer break has recharged your batteries for all the usual upcoming challenges. It's going to be an exciting phase for Telecentre-Europe, as the network will soon acquire  legal status, as well as launching its official membership scheme, and all of the planning for the summit In October. Busy, busy, busy!
Many of you should have already received invitations to join Telecentre-Europe as members and to attend the third Telecentre-Europe Summit 2010. Please note that the membership application deadline was extended to 20 September 2010, and registration for the summit is available until 10 September 2010.
If you haven't been there yet, we are encouraging you to visit the website, where you'll be able to find more details about membership and summit. We are looking forward to receiving your applications and registrations.

The Telecentre-Europe Summit 2010
The third Telecentre-Europe Summit will take place in Budapest, Hungary during 13-14 October 2010, and will bring together an invited audience of over 100 telecentre network leaders from across Europe.

 

The key theme of the event will focus on how telecentres can maximize their contribution towards a successful European digital agenda, and based on that we will explore how to build better partnerships with public and business sector, how to attract more funds or how to build telecentre capacity. 

The event programme (draft) was designed to offer free space and enough time for open discussions, new contacts and collaboration. More than that, the social side of the event will be boosted by a welcome reception that will open the event, and will continue during the second day with an exciting boat tour and dinner on the Danube.

How to join Telecentre-Europe                   as a member
Simply follow the three-step procedure:

1. Read carefully all membership related documents sent by email and available online in the Membership section of the Telecentre-Europe website
2. Complete the Membership Request Form

An official response will be sent certifying that your organisation is a Member of Telecentre-Europe. Names of all Members will be published on the Telecentre-Europe website prior to the establishment of the legal entity.
